We met online and had our first date 1 month later at an Irish pub in Montreal. As the cliché says… “it was love at first site” and we both really hit it off. He moved in with me 6 months later. Exactly 1 year later to the day we first met, he proposed to me at one of my favorite restaurants. It was a very emotional evening for both of us. We both wanted a destination wedding on the beach. On our list of places we really wanted to visit was Jamaica. We researched the requirements for getting married in there and it was pretty straight forward and not complicated. It was official; Jamaica would be the perfect place for our wedding/honeymoon. We immediately decided upon the month and the week for our wedding. We wanted an intimate wedding, just the two of us.
Getting married is a big step and when it comes to planning; we all want it to be perfect in every aspect, which led us on a quest to find an expert travel agent/wedding planner to fulfill our expectations. I began to do some research and I came upon Sharon Boissonneault at House of Travel. All I can say is that we could not have chosen a more suitable person to assist us in planning our destination wedding. Unfortunately we encountered a few glitches along the way, hotel renovations, reimbursements, photographer additional fees and so on. Sharon was fantastic and handled everything, keeping our stress level to a minimum even though she had to relocate and re-organize our wedding day 3 months prior. The wedding was at the Jewel Dunn’s River Beach Rosort & Spa. Sharon assured us that she was handling our wedding as though it was her own and she would accept nothing less than the best. We truly felt she put her heart and soul into our wedding preparation and thus ensured that everything would go smoothly. She was very attentive to every detail and worked within our budget limit and made our way day beautifully memorable. I highly recommend every couple to put their trust and faith into Sharon’s hands.
The wedding was absolutely a dream come true! It wasn’t finished though, upon our return from Jamaica, we had a church wedding and reception with all our close friends and family. Two totally different weddings, especially when it comes to the planning. For the destination wedding all the details and planning was all taken care of for me; while I was busy planning my 2nd wedding back home. It’s lovely and magical to have had both experiences in two completely different settings. Memories to last a life time for sure.
