Wedding of Clara Godbout-Tremblay & Vincent Chayer at the Melia Peninsula Varadero April 8th 2015
A wedding is one of the most important moments of your life. You dream about it for years until one day it finally becomes a reality…
First you meet and then there’s a period where dates multiply. You get to know each-other and fall in love to the point that you can’t live with-out one another. IF we’re lucky, the rest of the story … everyone knows.
In our case it took more than 5 years before we decided to tie the knot. Long before we decided on the wedding date we had the idea of getting married under the sun with both feet in the sand surrounded by our closest friends and family. We wanted something that represented us: simple, friendly and pleasant for everyone. It was very important that the wedding be convenient for all our guests from our 10 month old niece to our 92 year old grandmother. An all-inclusive vacation package down South became the natural choice for our wedding. This is when Sharon Boissonneault from House of Travel made her way into our lives. She had been recommended by a colleague for whom Sharon had organised their Humanitarian student group to Benin in Africa and her sister’s wedding the year prior. Sharon made the planification of this wedding a charm and everything was stress-free. She helped us select the destination and coordinate the travel arrangements for everyone and accommodate last minute additions to the group when the resort was sold-out. She planned the entire wedding day from A – Z and also helped my mother plan a surprise private cocktail 2 days prior the wedding. She gave us all the necessary tips to save money on the decorations for the wedding bringing them to the resort lowering costs significantly. With her contagious energy she made all our dreams come true and we had the privilege to kick-back and relax knowing we were in excellent hands. She’s an exceptional destination wedding specialist!
When we arrived at the Melia Peninsula Varadero everything was exactly like anticipated and everyone settled in nicely. Beautiful weather every day and the resort staff were very kind and helpful. The local wedding coordinator was a precious aid and helped us finalize the last details and she gladly set-up all our decorations to the vision we had in mind when we purchased them in Canada. She did a fantastic job turning our vision created with Sharon into a lovely reality.
If we were to do it all over again we would chose the exactly the same path that we went down. To get married on a warm Caribbean island with your friends & family is easy, pleasant and unique. We will cherish these memories forever.
